Miki Hashiba
Miki Hashiba (羽柴 美紀 Hashiba Miki) is a first year high school student and member of the school field and track team as a sprinter. She is best friends with Suzuka Asahina and later Yamato Akitsuki. Before they began attending the same high school, Miki had often encountered Suzuka during track meets and disliked her because Suzuka came off as cold and aloof. However, once she realized that Suzuka's distant nature resulted from her perfectionist tendencies and dedication to her sport, Miki came to respect Suzuka and they became friends. Although initially attracted to Yamato, upon realizing he was infatuated with Suzuka (Miki's best friend), she immediately puts a hold on her own feelings.
Miki is voiced by Jamie Marchi in the English dub of the anime.
Appearance[]
Miki Hashiba is a fairly slim young woman of average height and attractiveness. She also has brown eyes and hair, which is red in the manga and brown in the anime. Miki's attractiveness is more defined whenever she wears her track attire during sprinting events; her track attire consists of a sports bra, bikini, and a pair of running spikes (in the manga, Miki's running spikes are white/blue colored while in the anime, her running spikes are white/pink).
In the anime, Miki usually keeps her hair tied in a long ponytail. However, there are a few instances where she keeps her hair down.
Personality[]
Miki is extremely loyal to her friends and will do anything to help them. She meddles constantly in their affairs and can be quite incessant in forcing them to confront their feelings. When asked what is most important to her in life, her answer was simply, "Friends!".
Miki also shows compassion to her friends in general. An example of this is in Episode 8 where Miki mildly scolded Suzuka for being a bit harsh to Yamato.
Miki has a sensitive side when it comes to how she dresses. This is shown when Miki blushes in embarrassment when Yamato remarks how she looks "nude" in her track outfit; she blatantly replies that her outfit is what the female students wear for sprinting.

- The surname is derived from one of the old surnames of warlord Toyotomi Hideyoshi.
